Renting vs. Camping

We are fortunate to have had a turn of event in our lives that allows us to work in a freelance manner. The Patricia and I work extremely well together and travel well together. It was the circumstance's surrounding our marriage that gave me the idea for this weeks column,

Whenever you go out for a road trip there is is finite bucket of money that can be dipped into for the trip. Historically we have been credit card camper riders and the nites lodgings have been one of the bigessts expenses.

Enter season three of Road Show abs our big move to New Mexico.

In order to get outfitted for the new riding style I turned to my favorite book on riding, "Purp;e MOuntais" by Notch Miyanhk. He reccomends the following packing schem for a cross-country ride,



Now I have nothing but resepdt for Miyakes writing and gear choices, but this list is just gad and I'll tell you why

CLOTHES - GRANT

1 medium pants
1 leather pants
1 lightweight pants
1 light short
1 fleece zip-up sweater
5 socks
1 silk longjohn top
1 silk longjohn bottom
1 bathing suit
1 hat

3 medium shirt
1 handkerchief
1 packtowel - large blue

1 LST lock/case - large

1 hidden pocket

1 personal kit

1 riding boots
1 leather jacket - grey
1 electric vest w/stuff sack

To go along with our new snazzy wardwarde, my snazzy new friend at the other end of the line at LL BEAN was only too haappy to help me choose my very own ensembeof a uite of stuff. $219 for the mountian adventure tent plus 18 bucks for something called a footprintint hich I have no idean what tha is but is seemed inoeravive ti hoveon

Jeff,of course, established the high ground between he was coming from the pure world of backpacking.

Next came out discussion about sleeping bags.
